Cat Malojin’s Shameless Sunday Rehash of Old Material – Part 1 – My failed application to become manager of the Ireland football team

Due to the greatest creative lapse in the short history of this blog, I’ve decided to very lazily upload some of our less bad pre-blog nonsense – Its the equivalent of our Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular. I imagine most people who actually see these 2 posts will have already seen this stuff, and for that I apologise.

Anyways below is my failed application for the Ireland’s football manager job back in 2013. This was, very pleasantly, picked up by the Guardian – link here – and then rather less pleasantly picked up by the Irish Independent, which for some reason decided to make out that I was 16. In fairness to the Indo, they’ve openly been much more interested in cosying up to South Dublin society types than actual journalistic accuracy these past few years, so I guess it would be wrong to expect too much of them.

My only small gripe with the Guardian is that they failed to mention my shoutout to Ariana Grande in the article. Am I so vain/delusional to still think that if they had mentioned it, some of her groupies would have inevitably picked it up, and she’d be so impressed by it that right now I’d be courting/heavy petting the pop princess? Yes, I certainly am. She’ll always be the one that got away
