My failed attempt to redesign Fine Gael’s election posters

Every few years the countryside is ruined with them – poles and poles of ugly, ugly faces on unsightly election posters. So, as a man of action and with a general election in the next 15 months, I decided to do something about it. Thus, I designed funky fresh posters for my party of choice (Fine Gael) which I then sent off to the halls of power for consideration. Would they be interested? Would I finally get my big break? Well, if you somehow haven’t seen the title of this post, read on and see.

So, what are the conclusions from this experience? Was it unrealistic and naive to hope that Ireland’s main political party would choose to publish WWE themed election posters? Perhaps. Am I sorry that Fine Gael weren’t interested in my posters? Of course. Have I wasted both my time, and Fine Gael’s time? Almost certainly. What have I learned, overall? Not a goddamned thing.
